Apna Ghar Application Status: How to Track Your Loan
Track an Apna Ghar application by logging back into your account at apnaghar.gov.pk with the CNIC and password you registered with, and by following up with the bank branch handling your file. Banks commonly quote 30 to 45 working days from application to sanction; property title and valuation can add more. Keep the tracking number the portal issued when you submitted.
Two places your file lives
| Where | What it shows | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| apnaghar.gov.pk account | That your application was submitted and routed to a bank | Log in with your CNIC and password |
| Your chosen bank | The real progress: screening, valuation, approval, disbursement | Call or visit the branch with your tracking number and CNIC |
Once the portal forwards your case, the bank drives the timeline. If the portal shows "submitted" for weeks, the answer is usually at the branch, not on the website.
The stages, and what each one is waiting on
-
Step 1
Submitted. Portal has your file. Nothing to do but keep your phone reachable.
-
Step 2
Bank screening. Income, credit bureau record and document checks. This is where missing papers stall files.
-
Step 3
Property verification and valuation. The bank's valuer inspects the property and the legal team checks title.
-
Step 4
Credit approval. A sanction letter states the amount, tenure and conditions.
-
Step 5
Documentation and equity. You sign, mortgage documents are registered, and you deposit your 10%.
-
Step 6 · Final step
Disbursement. Funds go to the seller, or in tranches for construction.
How long it really takes
Banks have commonly quoted 30 to 45 working days to process an Apna Ghar application, but scheme-wide figures show the later stages take longer: as of 9 September 2026, 53,127 of 147,504 applications had been approved, while only 8,739 applicants had actually received disbursement totalling Rs45.43 billion. Approval and money in hand are separate milestones.
Our read: roughly one in three applications is approved and roughly one in six approvals had reached disbursement by early September. If your file is approved, the remaining work is property, title and signatures, and most of that is on your side of the table.
Chasing a file without annoying the bank
- Call the branch relationship officer weekly, not daily, and ask one specific question: what is the file waiting on right now?
- Write the answer down with the date. A short written record helps if you escalate.
- Send documents by email where the bank allows, so there is a timestamp.
- If the branch is unresponsive, ask for the bank's housing finance department or its complaints cell.
- The State Bank runs a complaints channel for banking services if the bank's own process fails you.
Signs your application is actually stuck
| Sign | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No contact for 3+ weeks after submission | File not picked up, or contact details wrong | Visit the branch with your CNIC and tracking number |
| Repeated requests for the same documents | Scans unreadable or name mismatch | Resend clear scans; match the CNIC spelling exactly |
| Valuation not scheduled | Seller not cooperating on access or papers | Push the seller; offer to coordinate the visit |
| Sanction letter issued but nothing moves | Equity not deposited or mortgage documents pending | Complete your 10% and the registration formalities |
Common reasons files are refused outright: why Apna Ghar applications get rejected.
Beware of "status check" middlemen
There is no fee to check an Apna Ghar application status, and no agent can speed up a file for money. The only official channels are the applicant's own account at apnaghar.gov.pk and the bank branch processing the case. Anyone asking for payment, an OTP, or remote access to your phone to "check" or "approve" an application is running a scam.
Common questions
I forgot my portal password.
Use the portal's password reset with the CNIC and email you registered.
Can someone else follow up for me?
Banks will discuss a file only with the applicant or a formally authorised person. Carry your CNIC.
My application was rejected. Can I reapply?
Usually yes, once the reason is fixed: clearer documents, a co-applicant, or a property within the size limits.
