Apna Ghar Online Apply at apnaghar.gov.pk
Apply for the Apna Ghar Program by creating an account at apnaghar.gov.pk with your CNIC, then completing one online form: income category, chosen bank, property purpose, equity and tenure, personal and employment details, guarantor, and uploaded documents. There is no application fee. The portal forwards your file to the bank you picked, which then contacts you for verification.
Before you start: what to keep ready
- CNIC (front and back scans) and a recent photograph
- Six months of bank statements and an account maintenance certificate
- Salary slip and employment certificate, or business proof if self-employed
- CNIC of your next of kin, guarantor and co-applicant if you have one
- Property details if you have already chosen one
- Your own equity, at least 10% of the property price
Scans should be clear and readable, in PDF or JPG. A blurred CNIC is one of the commonest reasons a file is sent back.

Step 13 · Final step
Review and submit. Keep the application or tracking number the portal gives you.
Applying for the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program is free: the government charges no processing fee for the application, and the scheme also carries no prepayment penalty if the borrower repays early. Applications are submitted only through the official portal at apnaghar.gov.pk, which forwards each case to the bank the applicant selects.
What happens after you submit
| Stage | What happens | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Portal submission | Application is recorded and routed to your bank | Save your tracking number |
| Bank screening | Bank checks income, credit record and documents | Answer calls; send anything missing quickly |
| Property and legal | Bank verifies title and values the property | Arrange seller documents and access for valuation |
| Approval | Sanction letter with amount, tenure and conditions | Read the conditions before signing |
| Disbursement | Funds released, usually to the seller or in construction stages | Pay your 10% equity as instructed |
Banks have commonly quoted 30 to 45 working days for processing, though the property and title stage can add more. How to follow your file: check your Apna Ghar application status.
Filling the form without formal income papers
If you drive a rickshaw, run a stall or work on commission, choose the informal category rather than abandoning the form. Banks can assess repayment ability using estimated-income models and evidence such as regular rent, utility or committee payments, and a guarantor strengthens the case. Gather six months of any bank or wallet statements you do have.
Mistakes that slow an application
- Name or father's name spelled differently from the CNIC
- Mobile number not registered on your own CNIC, so verification calls and codes fail
- Income overstated beyond what statements show
- Property chosen above the 10 marla or 1,500 sq ft limit; see property and construction rules
- Equity not actually available when the bank asks for it
Common questions
Can I apply at a bank branch instead?
The scheme's own channel is the portal. Banks can guide you, but the application is registered at apnaghar.gov.pk.
Can I change my bank after applying?
Ask the bank and the portal helpdesk; treat a switch as a fresh assessment rather than a quick edit.
Do I need to have picked a property first?
You can start without a finalised property, but approval and disbursement need property and title details.
