Figures that do not yet reconcile
| Question | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| How many people the scheme will fund | Three official figures: 100,000 youth (11 Jan 2026), 50,000 at Rs300,000 each (28 Jan 2026), then 45,000 over two years in the June agreement. Only the 45,000 figure is tied to a budget, Rs6.867 billion, so we treat it as the operative one and the January figures as launch aspirations |
| Repayment term | Not published in any source we have seen |
| Whether a salary ceiling applies | Mentioned only by secondary guides |
| Disbursement in parts | Described by secondary guides as a split against receipts; not confirmed officially |
| Public helpline | None published; the portal is the stated channel |
Our read: the scheme is well documented on what it pays for and poorly documented on what you owe afterwards. Until PSDF or the Bank of Punjab publishes a repayment schedule, the sanction letter is the only reliable statement of your obligation, and it is worth reading line by line before signing.
What we are watching
- Publication of the repayment term and instalment size
- Disbursement figures: how many cards issued and how much lent
- Any change to the eligible sectors or destination countries
- A published helpline or grievance channel
- Whether the scheme extends beyond its initial target
