800cc Cars Eligible for the Petrol Subsidy

Cars with an engine capacity of 800cc or less qualify for the PM Fuel Relief Scheme's 30-litre monthly petrol subsidy, if they are registered in your name and were first registered on or after 1 January 2006. Common eligible models are the Suzuki Mehran, the current 800cc Suzuki Alto and the Suzuki Bolan. The older 1000cc Alto, Cultus, Wagon R and Daihatsu Cuore do not qualify.

Eligible 800cc cars sold in Pakistan

These locally assembled models have engines of 800cc or less. Each must also have been registered on or after 1 January 2006.

Engine figures are manufacturer specifications. The scheme checks your vehicle against excise records, so the cc recorded there is what counts.

Cars that look small but do not qualify

Several popular small cars in Pakistan are above the PM Fuel Relief Scheme's 800cc limit and do not qualify for the Rs100-per-litre subsidy. The older Suzuki Alto sold from 2000 to 2012 has a 1000cc engine, the Daihatsu Cuore is 847cc, and the Suzuki Cultus and Wagon R are about 1000cc. Only the 800cc Alto launched in 2019 is eligible.

Imported Japanese kei cars (660cc)

Imported kei cars such as the Daihatsu Mira, Suzuki Alto Lapin, Nissan Dayz and Honda N-WGN have 660cc engines, which is below the 800cc limit. On the rules as announced, a kei car registered in your name on or after 1 January 2006 should qualify. Official statements have not named imported models specifically, so check your first registration date: many were registered in Pakistan years after manufacture, and it is the registration date that the 9771 SMS uses.

Car rules that apply on top of engine size

  • Ownership: the car must be registered in the applicant's name. The open transfer letter exception covers only motorcycles and rickshaws.
  • Registration date: 1 January 2006 or later. The same cut-off now applies to bikes and rickshaws.
  • Fuel: petrol. The subsidy does not apply to CNG.
  • One CNIC, one vehicle: you cannot register both a car and a motorcycle on the same CNIC, according to reports.

What an 800cc car owner gets

An eligible car receives up to 30 litres of petrol a month at Rs100 off per litre, issued as 10-litre tokens, one every 10 days. That is up to Rs3,000 saved a month; at the Rs377.91 price notified for 31 October - 2 November 2026, subsidised petrol costs Rs277.91.
